Dr. Vishal Wadhera is a qualified Diplomate of the National Board of Kidney Specialists. He was appointed The Head, Department of Nephrology at the JNMC, Belgaum, soon after he finished his training in Nephrology at the prestigious Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences, Mumbai in 2004. It was only under his aegis and able guidance that The Department of Nephrology and Urology at JNMC, Belgaum did the first successful renal transplant in December 2004. In May 2005, the University of Ottawa, Canada awarded him the Fellowship in Clinical Nephrology at the Ottawa Hospital for a period of 2 years. He was subsequently awarded the esteemed AST (American Society of Transplant) fellowship for a period of 1 year. During his fellowship days, he developed a special interest in Diabetic Nephropathy – more particularly in the progression of diabetic Nephropathy, and carried out research with the leading nephrologists of the Ottawa hospital, Canada. Dr. Wadhera specializes in clinical nephrology, Hemodialysis, and CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis). It was once again through his initiative and supervision that the first Living Related Renal Transplant, in the entire Mahakaushal region, he has done more than 50 successful renal transplants in Jabalpur.
